The APEX Accelerators program was formerly known as the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (opens in new window) (PTAP).
This project makes improvements to 6 airstrips on the Payette and Boise National Forests including Chamberlain, Cold Meadows, Cabin Creek, Krassel, Landmark, and Idaho City.
Work includes culvert replacement, windsock installation, boundary marker maintenance, toilet building installation, grading, clearing and grubbing, sign installation, tie-down installation, asphalt repair and all related work.
3 of the airstrips are in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness and special restrictions will apply. Access to these 3 sites is only by airplane or ~20+ miles of trail. Additionally only hand tools, and horse drawn tools type may be used at those sites.
