The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is soliciting multiple Suppliers to provide behavioral stabilization and linkage to community resources for Regions 1-6 for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities which through the operation of intensive in-home and intensive out-of-home crisis services statewide. A short-term stay in a licensed and accredited community-based hospital for the stabilization of a psychiatric crisis. The service is of short duration and provides treatment for individuals experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis episode. The intent of this service is to provide short-term recovery-oriented treatment and support that increases the functioning of persons with psychiatric disabilities. The service should include tailored interventions based upon the individual's unique needs as identified in their individualized recovery plan but may also include routinely available interventions provided by a contractor's inpatient program milieu, as clinically indicated. Individuals will be referred through the Georgia Crisis Access Line (GCAL). Professionals and families will call from emergency rooms, community mental health centers, private psychiatric hospitals, DFCS, courts, schools, law enforcement, jails, probation and parole, private practices, medical clinics juvenile justice, etc. Our goal is to connect individuals with care quickly, close to home, and to avoid unnecessary law enforcement or emergency department intervention whenever possible. This is an opportunity to establish a pathway for permanent community living for those on the New Options Waiver Program (NOW) and/or Comprehensive Supports Waiver Program (COMP).
