Bid Synopsis:	Part 1 The purpose of this document is to provide interested parties with information to enable them to prepare and submit a bid for site prep/oak release on approximately 65 acres within the Black River State Forest in Jackson County. This project involves forest stands that will be part of an upcoming timber harvest. This project will require basal herbicide application to all deciduous non-oak stems between 3' tall and 5" DBH. Additionally, cut/fell all conifers Part 2 The purpose of this document is to provide interested parties with information to enable them to prepare and submit a bid for oak release on approximately 45 acres within the Black River State Forest in Jackson County. This project involves forest stands that will be part of an upcoming timber harvest. This project will require cutting/felling all conifers, red maple, aspen and witch hazel less than 5” DBH. Stumps shall be no higher than 6” and no cut stems shall be left hung up. Any young oaks that are bent over by cut stems shall be promptly released. Work shall be completed by December 31, 2025. The successful contractor will treat targeted species within these areas with the goal of treating at least 95% of the identified species. Prospective bidders are urged to examine the site for evaluation prior to bidding.
