    Notes:

This is a single source posting notification; there are no documents available for download. This is not a Request for Bid (RFB) or Request for Proposal (RFP). The Minnesota Department of Education intends to proceed with an FY25 departmental membership to Chief Officers of State Library Agencies (COSLA). COSLA is the 501c3 non-profit association of the state governmental entities charged with statewide library development. Membership is applicable to the states and territories of the United States and the District of Columbia. The head or acting head of the state department, division or other organizational unit of the branch directly charged with the statewide library development, or their designated representative serves as representative for the entity. Each state is entitled to only one member, though that individual’s senior staff and deputy directors are encouraged to participate in the various aspects of membership.

COSLA is the sole organization in the U.S. focused on state library agencies. It has national reach as the only organization with access to every public library in America. Its network of peers brings to bear the perspectives of 53 states and territories. Its members are recognized leaders in their field and operate unified through COSLA as an influential and trusted partner connecting local, state, regional and national library interests.

COSLA member benefits provide community, visibility, and insight and include:

    Executive education & professional development

Robust access to a network of state Chief Officers of library agencies

    • Complimentary national briefings, all-state calls, and topical webinars

Professionally managed connections to related national partners

Visibility for state initiatives among peers and national media

    • Opportunities to network with, learn the needs of and explore potential partnerships with public and private sector information professionals

    • Support for participation in yearly educational and networking conferences and events including registration fees and certain costs related to travel

Opportunity to serve on operational and issue committees, task forces and engagement group and participate in national projects and library initiatives

    • Participation in COSLA’s private online collaboration tool – the Chief Officers Online Community.
