Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT request for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time.
This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine if any manufacturer/supplier is capable of providing a domestically manufactured immunofluorescense microscope meeting the characteristics listed below.
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Regional Procurement Office Central, Network Contracting Office 10, is seeking sources for a domestically manufactured immunofluorescense microscope for the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center located at 4646 John R Street, Detroit, MI 48201.
The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, and the Business Size Standard is 1,000 Employees.
The immunofluorescense microscope will be used for research studies and must include the following features/capabilities:
The fluorescence microscope must be equipped with motorized filter turret with a high-resolution monochrome camera to acquire color images with crisp contrast, and an optional black and white mode to document basic fluorescence.
It must be equipped with the broad spectral light emitting diode (LED) fluorescence light to provide flexibility in the options to choose the fluorophore needed in our studies.
It should be equipped with multiple stage inserts that will allow us to accommodate a variety of sample holders like chamber slides, multi-well plates and petri dishes so we can observe any type of sample.
Other salient functional features that it must include are inverted stand with integrated liquid crystal display (LCD); high quality objectives that are optimized for fluorescence imaging; minimal maintenance LED light sources; filter sets to image blue fluorescent dye (e.g., DAPI), green fluorescent protein (GFP) and bright red-fluorescent dyes (e.g., Alexa594) with room for growth for additional applications in the future;
The high-resolution monochrome camera must include appropriate software package for simple image acquisition.
Contractors that may be capable of meeting this requirement are asked to provide a response via the email address listed below. Please provide at minimum the following information in your response:
(1) Business Name and Address
(2) Point of Contact Name, Phone Number and E-mail Address
(3) SAM Unique Entity ID (UEI)
(4) Type of Small Business (if applicable): Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, Veteran Owned Small Business, 8a, HUBZone, Woman-Owned, etc.
