General Notice
The CITY OF QUITMAN (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:
Phase 4 Sidewalk Improvements
05-21-02
Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the Quitman City Hall located at 5 2nd Street, Quitman, AR 72131 or P.O. Box 141 Quitman, AR 72131 until June 25th at 10:00 am local time. At that time the Bids received will be opened publicly and read aloud.
The CITY OF QUITMAN hereby notifies all bidders that this contract is subject to applicable labor laws, non-discrimination provisions, wage rate laws and other federal laws including the Fair Labor Standards Acts of 1938. The Work Hours Act of 1962 and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 also apply.
The Project includes the following Work:
Approximately 742 LF of concrete sidewalk with curb and gutter, installation of handicap ramps, approximately 150 LF of continuous planters, installation of 8 solar lights and post, excavation, grading, and demolition of existing sidewalks.
Build America, Buy America provisions apply to this project.
The Project has an expected duration of 180 days.

Project plans and technical specifications may be downloaded from the designated website, free of charge, to allow prospective bidders to determine if they would like to bid the project. Bidding Documents required for the submission of a bid must be purchased from the issuing office (printed copies) or downloaded from QuestCDN, as detailed below. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through these sources. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated sources.

Prospective Bidders may obtain or examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
Bidding Documents may be purchased from the Issuing Office during the hours indicated above. Cost does not include shipping charges. Upon Issuing Office’s receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via the prospective Bidder’s delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method chosen. Bidding Documents are available for purchase in the following formats:

For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. The Owner expressly reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received, and to accept that bid which in its judgment, best serves the interest of the Owner. The Owner encourages participation by small, minority, and women owned business enterprises. No potential supplier/contractors/sub-contractors will be precluded from consideration on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age or national origin.
