State Theater Building

The City of Garden City is seeking qualified proposals for use of the State Theater building located at 418 N. Main Street, Garden City, Kansas. Proposals will be accepted until 2:00 PM CST on August 28, 2026. The goal is to return this under-utilized property located in the heart of downtown to productive use through a redevelopment project that advances one or more of the goals identified in the Downtown Master Plan.

Proposals shall be emailed in a PDF format with the subject line, “Proposal for State Theater.” Please ensure the individual(s) or organization(s) submitting the proposal is clearly identified and has current contact information included in the email. The PDF should not exceed five (5) MB. If the file is larger than five (5) MB it should be submitted using a download link, compressed file, or via USB drive delivered to the above address.

RFP questions should be emailed to Danielle Burke no later than July 31, 2026. Danielle Burke will provide a written response to all individual(s) and/or organization(s) that have indicated interest in submitting a proposal. RFP questions and responses will also be posted on the City’s website.

All Proposals must be received by 2:00PM CST on August 28, 2026. Proposals received after the date and time specified will not be read. All proposals will become the property of the City of Garden City.

The timeline of events is as follow:

**The City Commission reserves the right to modify the schedule as needed. Such changes will be made via written addenda.
