Electronic Medical Records System

The Riley County Health Department (“RCHD”) is seeking competitive proposals from qualified vendors for the purpose of identifying an Electronic Medical Records (“EMR”) system. As the responsibilities and priorities of the RCHD has evolved, so too have the information technology needs. Today, in addition to providing direct clinical support, health departments are placing increased emphasis on population health and supporting a local health ecosystem that improves outcomes for residents and lowers the cost of services.

The vision is an interoperable health information technology ecosystem that facilitates informed decision-making, supports coordinated health management, allows patients to be active partners in their health care, allows for deeper analysis and insight, and improves the overall population health.

To achieve this vision, RCHD demands reliable, flexible health information technology that supports the current and longer-term needs of Riley County.

Proposals will be publicly opened by the Board of Riley County Commissioners as such proposals are received at the next available public meeting convenient to the Board. The Board may refer such publicly opened proposal to RCHD for evaluation and review, and subsequent recommendation to the Board. In RCHD’s review of the submitted proposal, follow-up questions of the proposal may be necessary and may be done within the discretion of the Director of RCHD. The Board may require any Bidder to make a public presentation to the Board at a public meeting after the date their bid is opened.
