Description
The U.S. Geological Survey intends to award a non-competitive purchase order to HITACHI HIGH-TECH AMERICA, INC. Located at 1375 N 28TH AVE DALLAS TX for a one-year service agreement for a government owned Schottky Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope located at U.S. Geological Survey 12201 Sunrise Valley Dr. MS-954 Reston, VA 20192.
The service is to be provided at USGS Energy and Minerals Science Center located in Reston, Virginia. The period of performance will be 9/1/2025-8/31/2026

There are no option periods.

Hitachi High-Tech America, Inc. is the only available source that can provide the required service due to the proprietary nature of instruments designed and manufactured by the Hitachi Group. The requested service requires specialized diagnostic tools, software, and technical expertise that are only available through the manufacturer. No other vendor can provide the required maintenance and support without compromising equipment reliability or violating manufacturer terms.

In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency; however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) soliciting from a single source.

The anticipated award date of the contract is 8/20/2025. The anticipated contract will be firm fixed price. A vendor must be registered at https://www.sam.gov to be awarded the purchase order.
