APEX Accelerators are an official government contracting resource for small businesses. Find your local APEX Accelerator (opens in new window) for free government expertise related to contract opportunities.
APEX Accelerators are funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Department of Defense.
The APEX Accelerators program was formerly known as the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (opens in new window) (PTAP).
The Department of State (DoS), Bureau of Medical Services (MED), Directorate of Operations, Readiness, Security (ORS) is hosting an Industry Best Practice Conference to conduct market research and seek industry input as it prepares to solicit sources for future aviation support to solve problems and execute missions.
MED/ORS aviation program maintains the Department’s only standing transoceanic aviation support capability for biocontainment medical evacuations, but also supports non-biocontainment medical evacuations, and other short-notice requirements as necessitated by the Department. This is accomplished with on-demand aviation medium business jets which are highly configurable.
This market research event will be a way for MED Aviation to gauge interest and identify potential business sources with the resources, capabilities, and experience to successfully deliver requisite services to sustain the Department’s aviation mission. Industry should be prepared to discuss innovative solutions to problems, available technologies, and capabilities. The Department staff will present a MED Aviation overview briefing, describe functional core and support contract requirements, and offer opportunities for one-on-one sessions with the Government. The government will also provide Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) on-site for inspection and review. The conference will be held on December 8, 2025, at 10:00am, in Chantilly, Virginia with follow-on one-on-one discussions. The exact location and agenda will be provided to the registered participants through email.
Following the overview presentations and the open discussion forum on December 8, 2025, the Government will host one-on-one sessions with interested companies from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM on December 8, 2025, and between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM on December 9, 2025, with December 10, 2025, as an overflow day, if needed. These sessions will require prior registration with the Government and will be limited to a maximum of 1 hour each. Session times will be assigned, and companies will be notified of their time slot via email.
Please see that attachment for more information regarding Bureau of Medical Services technical requirements.
Pre-registration is REQUIRED. This is a no-fee event and seating is limited to two (2) individuals from each company.
Companies are required to email Sarah Mirabal-Fritz, mirabalsc@state.gov, Alicia Hofhine, HofhineAK@state.gov and Robin Guillie, GuillieRL@state.gov no later than 4:00 PM (EST) on December 1, 2025 to request seats.
