Statewide New, Model Year 2026 or Newer, Prisoner Transport Buses and Motor Coaches

These specifications define the State’s requirements for new, never titled, model year 2026 or newer, prisoner transport buses and motor coaches.  These specifications are to be utilized by state agencies in the operation of state government.  This includes political subdivisions that are members of the Department of Administrative Services, Office of Procurement Services Cooperative Purchasing Program.

Vehicle shall be the latest current model, complete with all standard equipment, unless otherwise specified.  Any item which is standard equipment on the vehicle being bid, but not listed below, must not be removed from the vehicle.  Manufacturer’s disclaimers indicate changes in product specifications may occur during the model year and they reserve the right to do so without repercussion.  All current mandatory Department of Transportation safety requirements are to be furnished, including seat belts and shoulder harness.

In-Person Training shall be provided upon delivery of vehicle(s) to four (4) people designated by Ordering Agency. Training should be one (1) hour and include the location and operational use of safety equipment, emergency exits, electronic switches, storage compartments, security systems and cameras, and locking mechanisms.

An electronically delivered digital-training video shall be provided upon delivery of vehicle and is required to include training for all options included on vehicle.
