Separate sealed bids for construction of the Seyler Lane Bridge Replacement will be received by the office of the Madison County Commission at 111 East Wallace Street, P.O. Box 278, Virginia City, Montana 59755 until 10:00 a.m. local time on November 24
th
, 2025 and then publicly opened and read aloud.
The project generally consists of the replacement of the Seyler Lane Bridge over Ruby River (MDT Bridge# - 03601) located 3.5 miles south of Twin Bridges in Madison County, Montana. The new bridge will replace the existing two-span, 62’ span x 22’ usable width bridge. The new 100’ span x 24’ usable width single-span bridge will be constructed of precast prestressed concrete bulb tee beams on a driven pile foundation. Improvements consist of, but are not limited to: removal of existing bridge, riprap, supply and installation of precast concrete bulb tee beams, supply and installation of steel pipe piles, cast-in-place concrete pile caps and wingwalls, guardrail, bridge rail, structural backfill, roadway embankment, asphalt pavement surfacing, aggregate base, signing, approach culverts, fencing, and other miscellaneous items.

There will be a Pre-Bid Conference held at the project site at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12th. Interested Contractors are encouraged to attend.
Contractor and any of the Contractor’s Subcontractors bidding or doing work on this project will be required to be registered with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). Forms for registration are available from the Department of Labor and Industry, PO Box 8011, 1805 Prospect, Helena MT 59604-8011. Information on registration can be obtained by calling (406) 444-7734. All laborers and mechanics employed by Contractor or Subcontractors in performance of the construction work shall be paid wages at rates as required by Montana Prevailing Wage Rates. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier’s Check, or Bid Bond payable to Madison County, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. Successful Bidders shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Insurance, as required, shall be provided by the successful Bidder(s) and a certificate(s) of that insurance shall be provided.
This project is funded in part or in whole with grant/loan funding from Montana Department of Commerce - Montana Coal Endowment Program (MCEP).
Bids may only be withdrawn as provided in Section 16.02 of the Instructions to Bidders after the scheduled time for the public opening of bids.
The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals received, to waive informalities, to postpone the award of the contract for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days, and to accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid that is in the best interest of the Owner.
All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be submitted in writing to and must be received by Great West Engineering no later than 10:00 a.m. local time on November 19

Questions received after this date will not be answered. Oral questions will only be accepted at the Pre-Bid conference.

Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all parties recorded as having received the Bidding Documents. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
