In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source using single source procedures. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a single source, one-time, Firm Fixed Price contract, for items listed below.
Amount / Manufacturer / Product Number / Item Description
2 / SSR Engineering / 220C-S / Prime PCRP
1 / SSR Engineering / 670C-S / Global Track Correlator
1 / SSR Engineering / 415C-S / MIS (Maritime Information Server)
1 / SSR Engineering / 753C-5-S / Radii Server
2 / SSR Engineering / 642C-S / Camera Manager
1 / SSR Engineering / 803C-S / LAN API Recorder
Rational Basis for Use of Single Source Award Procedures:
SSR Engineering (SSR) owns the patents and proprietary data for the Coastal Surveillance System (CSS). The individual components of CSS equipment cannot be competitively acquired from other manufacturers as SSR is the patent and proprietary data owner nor can the CSS equipment be reverse engineered.
The FAA's current intended procurement strategy is to pursue a single Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract via single source award procedures to the following company:
SSR Engineering, Incorporated
950 Fee Ana St, STE A
Placentia, CA 92870-6755
United States
SAM UEI: XAL9E3EV71M3
This announcement is for informational purposes only, not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. All questions pertaining to this announcement should be addressed via email to Stephen.N.Branch@faa.gov no later than Tuesday, January 21, 2025 by 4:00 pm CDT (no phone calls please).
