The Alice Williams Library Renovation Project is a comprehensive effort to modernize this historic facility while preserving its architectural significance. The project includes upgrades to infrastructure, safety, and accessibility in compliance with local, state, and federal historic preservation standards. The work involves selective demolition, restoration of key structural elements, and improvements to the building’s exterior and interior finishes. Essential mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems will be overhauled, incorporating energy-efficient HVAC, upgraded electrical panels, and modernized plumbing fixtures. Accessibility will be improved through Florida Building code-compliant restrooms, ramps, and pathways, while site enhancements include stormwater drainage improvements, new parking configurations, and landscaping updates. Contractors must adhere to strict historic preservation guidelines and permitting requirements, ensuring the renovation maintains the building’s historical integrity while providing a safe, efficient, and functional space for the community. Please reference the detailed project plans attached at the end of the RFP. Any changes to these plans must be approved by the engineer of record prior to the start of the construction.
