Title: Revision and Reprinting of County Wildfire Preparedness Handbook
Addenda: 1
Release Date: 9/1/2026
Due Date: 10/9/2026
The County of Solano, Sheriff's Office hereinafter referred to as the “County,” intends to secure a contract with a qualified responder for Revision and Reprinting of County Wildfire Preparedness Handbook using grant funding provided through Cal Firewise. The selected provider will be responsible for developing a new creative layout, updating and refining all content, and collaborating closely with County staff throughout the development process. This includes managing revisions, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency of information, preparing final production‑ready files, and overseeing all aspects of printing. The completed product will be prepared and delivered for Countywide distribution.
The Sheriff's Office of Emergency Services (OES) received the Cal Firewise grant which supports the creation of printed materials that help residents understand defensible space requirements and learn practical ways to make their properties more resistant to wildfire. The updated handbook will include information about local fire departments, how wildfires spread, common causes of fires, and strategies for preventing human‑related ignitions. It will also outline state and local vegetation‑clearing laws, along with guidance on hardening homes against wildfire. Additionally, the handbook will cover evacuation procedures, including what to pack and how residents can help ensure firefighters have the best possible conditions to protect their homes if necessary. The final version will be printed in both English and Spanish and distributed at public events and through local Firewise communities.
