FY27 COBH Interpreting Services

SCOPE OF WORK AND DELIVERABLES

Contractor will provide culturally competent interpretation of legal and medical information to Central Ohio Behavioral Healthcare (COBH) patients who are not proficient in English.  This communication may include daily living skills information as well.  This function is core to providing Limited English Proficiency compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act for our patients.  Contractor will ensure that each interpreter is competent in the language requested to be translated and adheres to standards of confidentiality in accordance with the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

The languages in high demand at COBH include the following:

1. Spanish
2. Somali
3. Maay-Maay
4. Fulani
5. French Wolof
6. French
7. Arabic
8. Nepali
9. Oromo

As part of your technical proposal submission, COBH would like to know how many interpreters your agency has to support the above languages or submission of your operational process in handling language demand.  This may include methods of securing interpreters of specific languages and lead time needed from COBH to obtain the requested language.  If in order to secure a specific language requires a set amount of commitment, that should be identified in your submitted quote for COBH management to review.

1. DBH’s initial review of all proposals for timely submission;
2. An evaluation committee review of the proposals for defects and scoring;
3. DBH’s request for more information (clarifications, interviews, presentations, and/or demonstrations); and,
4. Negotiations or best offer requests.
