The District of Columbia Government (the “District”), acting by and through its Department of General Services (“DGS” or the “Department”), Division of Contracts and Procurement is issuing this Request for Proposal (“RFP”) to engage multiple qualified contractors to provide Fire Apparatus Suppression Equipment Assessment, Inspection, Testing, Maintenance and Repair Services. The apparatus suppression equipment in general includes, but is not limited to fire extinguisher, sprinkler system(s)/apparatus(es), kitchen fire suppression, and fire pumps at various District owned and/or operated facilities
DGS encompasses a range of specialized Divisions, such as Portfolio Management, Facilities Management, Capital Construction, Sustainability + Energy, Contracts and Procurement, Protective Services, Information Technology, and others, collectively staffed by a dynamic workforce exceeding 700 full-time employees. Rooted in a core mission and attendant obligations, DGS is steadfastly committed to fostering a safe and sustainable environment throughout all properties owned or managed by the District, as prescribed by D.C. Code § 10-551.01(b)(4) delineated in the Department of General Services Establishment Act of 2011.
