Union County School System - RFQ-27-002 Transportation Fuel
The Union County Board of Education is seeking bids for Non-Ethanol Gasoline
and On-Road Diesel Transportation Fuel for the Union County School System.
This bid will include all over-rack charges, fees, and fuel deliveries throughout
the bid period, effective dates listed below. Price increases throughout the length
of the bid contract will not be accepted.
Bid period effective dates: July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027
All bids must be received by mail at the address listed below by Thursday, July 16, 2026, at
1:00:00 p.m.

Hand deliveries may also be available with prior notification and approval to David Murphy
(706-897-7050) or Mike Patton (706-781-7233). All hand deliveries must be received by
Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 1:00:00 p.m.
No bids will be accepted after this stated time and date; all such bids will be returned to the
sender unopened. All bids must be clearly marked "RFQ-27-002, Transportation Fuel" on the
envelope's exterior. The Board of Education staff accepts no responsibility for opening
envelopes that are not properly marked before the stated bid opening.
Bids will be opened in the Union County Board of Education office on Thursday, July 16, 2026,
at 1:30:00 p.m. The bid will be awarded at the first available board meeting following the public

Additional Bid Submission Information:
The fueling tank is located at 202 Beasley Circle, Blairsville, GA 30512
Above-ground tank capacity: 6,000 Gallons of Diesel and 4,000 Gallons of Gasoline
(non-ethanol)
Diesel is estimated to be 36,000 Gallons per year, and Gasoline is estimated at 32,000
Gallons per year.
The above-ground tank will require a truck with pumping ability. The delivery truck can
also get within five (5) feet of the filling housing.
The average load is typically 7,000 to 7,500 total gallons per delivery.
Both bobtail and tanker trucks can easily access the tank.

The Union County Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any bid or portion thereof, to
accept any single or combination of items in the proposal/bid, and to waive informalities and minor
irregularities in all proposals/bids received. It also reserves the right to cancel the agreement with the
successful bidder at any time, regardless of reason.

Both the Gasoline (non-ethanol) and Diesel (for highway use) are to be delivered to the Union
County Schools Operations Center located at 202 Beasley Circle, Blairsville, GA 30512.
Our insurance carrier requires us to obtain a copy of the insurance coverage applicable to your
