BID NOTICE
CITY OF WADSWORTH
BRICKYARD ATHLETIC COMPLEX REMEDIATION
Sealed bids will be received by the Director of Public Service of the City of Wadsworth at City Hall, 120
Maple Street, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281 until eleven o’clock (11:00 a.m.) EST on December 1, 2025 at
which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all necessary labor,
materials and equipment to perform and complete the Brickyard Athletic Complex Remediation
Project, Contract 2024-408, according to plans and specifications on file in the City Engineering Office,
part of the office of the Director of Public Service, at City Hall, 120 Maple Street, Wadsworth, Ohio
44281, said plans and specifications being open for public inspection.
The work covered by the plans and specifications includes furnishing all labor, equipment, and the noted
material for summary of work. This improvement must attain Substantial Completion by June 30, 2026.
All bidders must be qualified by experience and properly equipped to complete the work specified in the
time allotted.
The engineer’s estimate for the proposed improvements: $1,800,000. Bidders are advised that a
contract cannot be entered into if the bid amount is in excess of 20 percent of the engineer’s estimate
pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 153.12(A).
The lowest and best bidder for this contract shall be the bidder whose bid is determined by the City to
be the lowest responsible bid. The City shall have the sole right to select the option and any alternative
or combination of alternatives that best suits the needs of the City. Bid tabs will be posted to the City’s
website following the bid opening, no inquiries are to be directed to the City.
Each bid shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Brickyard Athletic Complex
Remediation Project, Contract 2024-408” and addressed to and delivered to the Director of Public
Service, City of Wadsworth, City Hall, 120 Maple Street, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281. Each bid must be
submitted on the form provided by the City in the bid book and must be fully completed and submitted
intact. Each bid shall contain the entire bid book with all addendums. Each bid must contain the full
name of the party or parties submitting it.
Additional requirements and conditions are described in the bid book. Bidders are advised that this
work is highly specialized, and information shall be required to determine “responsible bidder”
qualifications that includes but is not limited to the following:
A complete list of all projects within the previous three years. If the project resulted in a dispute
with the Project Owner where legal counsel was engaged (regardless of whether or not it went
to litigation), include a brief description of the dispute, the resolution, and contact information
for the Project Owner.
Copies of the following current certifications for in-house personnel:
o Ohio EPA Asbestos Contractor License
o Ohio EPA Asbestos Supervisor License
o Ohio EPA Asbestos Worker License
o OSHA HAZWOPER Training 40-hour and/or 8-hour Refresher
Contract Documents including bid book, plans, and specifications may be obtained by contacting AA
Blueprint – 2757 Gilchrist Road, Akron, Ohio 44305, (330) 794-8803, www.aaplanroom.com. Contractors
must purchase the bid book at their own expense. The fee is non-refundable. Purchase of a bid book
from AA Blueprint is required to be considered for this project.
Each bidder shall be required to file with its bid, the following:
1. A bid guarantee in the form of either:
a. A bond in substantially the form set forth in section 153.571 of the Ohio Revised Code
issued by a surety company or corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said
surety. Said bond shall be the full amount of the bid, or
b. A certified check, cashier’s check or letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305 of the
Ohio Revised Code. The amount of the certified check, cashier’s check or letter of credit
shall equal 10% of the full amount of the bid and the Successful Bidder will be required
to submit a bond in the form provided in section 153.57 of the Ohio Revised Code in
conjunction with the execution of the contract. Said bond shall be issued by a surety
company or corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety.

Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on public improvements in Medina County, Ohio as
determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Labor and Worker Safety, Wage and Hour
Bureau.
No bidder may withdraw a bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof except as
provided in section 9.31 of the Ohio Revised Code.
The City of Wadsworth reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive irregularities therein.
