Award Announcement: FY24 Ft Sam Houston Shrine -- Y1PZ
FY24 National Shrine at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery was awarded to Double Bronze Star (DBS) Marketing and Consulting, Inc.
DBS is the incumbent on the FY23 shrine project. The contractor is still onsite. In accordance with VAAR 819.7008, DBS is a verified SDVOSB vendor in VetCert. FSHNC has very limited space for staging, therefore, with multiple contractors onsite it will hinder progress and complicate communication with the facility. DBS is a current contractor onsite and already has the equipment, manpower and expertise to provide the service necessary. Therefore, no additional space would need to be expended DBS has years of experience with Raise and Realignments, turf renovation and irrigation renovation, as they have been awarded numerous projects in NCA with similar scopes of work. They are capable of providing a service and it prevents having multiple contractors onsite as the staging area has very limited space. Also, the cemetery would like to prevent limited sections being renovated at the same time. Contractor is mobilized. Due to the overlapping nature, communication and coordination that occurs between the projects the government would be best served with a sole source award.
