This requirement is for the FY25 Pike Spring Planting. Plant approximately 509 acres with container stock at 134 trees per acre. This project will pay on a per acre basis. See Detailed Schedule table for specific acreage and number of trees to be planted in each unit. The planting will be accomplished by utilizing a minimum 8’ X 8’ spacing from other planted seedlings and natural regeneration with large variability (Average spacing should be 18’ X 18’). All trees will be planted in shaded microsites using logs and standing dead for shade. The total acreage of items is 509 acres and the total trees to be planted are approximately 67,000 seedlings. Approximately 85% of the seedlings planted will be ponderosa pine and 15% will be Douglas fir. The stock type will be 1-0 plugs (112 and 160 container stock, respectively).
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment (covered trailer for transporting seedlings), supervision, workman’s compensation, unemployment insurance, transportation, supplies (expect those designated as Government-furnished) and incidentals, to perform all work necessary to plant seedlings in the areas specified. The contract includes tree handling, planting, and micro-siting. All trees will be planted in the shade of a log, stump, or shrub. All aspects of the work program
