Project Description: Davis County (referred to hereafter as “the County”) runs a urinalysis laboratory that tests urine samples for several specialty courts, drug treatment programs, and work release programs. This lab processes an average of 12,000 urine tests annually, or about 230 per week. This workload is run through a Beckman-Coulter AU480 (the “Machine”). With this workload and Machine, the County’s urinalysis lab uses chemical reagents, calibrators, controls, software, hardware, consumable products, and other items required to handle the workload. The County is looking to contract with a company (hereinafter referred to as “the Vendor”) from which it can purchase lab equipment, reagents, and other items needed to run the urinalysis laboratory. The County is also looking to contract with a company that can provide regular maintenance to the Machine and technical support that can be contacted 24/7, as the Machine is run at night, on weekends, and holidays. The County is open to offers that include purchasing or trading in the current Machine in exchange for a lease on a new machine, or the purchase of a new machine if the chosen Vendor is able to provide training, regular maintenance, and 24/7 technical support on this new machine. The County desires to enter a contract for 3 years with the option to renew this contract for up to six additional years, in two year increments under the same terms and conditions. Any changes that would need to be made should be done with a 90-day notice. The contract should include options for renewal outside of the term of any lease for a new machine that may also exist in the future. The County also reserves the right not to extend the contract at the end of the term based on future circumstances.
