ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
FY 2026 GTIB PAVING IMPROVEMENTS
FOR THE
CITY OF TWIN CITY, GEORGIA
Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Twin City, Georgia at Twin City, City Hall,
P.O. Box 980 or 112 South Railroad Avenue, Twin City, Georgia 30471 (Shipping Address
Only - No Mail Received at Street Address) until Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at
which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. No submitted bid may be
withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days.
The Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications, 2021 Edition, Supplemental
Specifications Book, 2024 Edition, and applicable Supplemental Specifications and Special
Provisions apply to this project.
The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment and labor for the
construction of:
The project will consist of 3,446 SY of Graded Aggregate Base and driveway
piping for a new road, 1,694 SY of variable depth milling, 938 SY of Full Depth
Reclamation, 37 SY of patching, 3,343 Tons of overlay with recycled asphalt
concrete 9.5 mm Superpave, 3,537 gallons of Bitum Tack Coat, restriping, traffic
control and appurtenances for paving improvements.
Time allotted for completion shall be 120 consecutive calendar days.
Proposals for the complete work in one general contract shall be made on the proposal form
provided and shall contain prices in words and figures for the work bid on.
All proposals shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond drawn in favor of the City of Twin City, in
the amount of at least 5% of the lump sum bid for the complete work; such Bid Bond
representing that the Bidder, if awarded the contract, will promptly enter into a contract and
furnish Performance Bond and Payment Bond as provided by law and approved by the Attorney
for the City of Twin City. Each bond shall be equal to 100% of the contract amount. The Bid
Bond shall be forfeited to the City of Twin City as liquidated damages if the Bidder fails to
execute the contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within 10 days after being
notified that he has been awarded the contract.
Drawings and Specifications are open to public inspection at the office of the City of Twin City
and at the offices of Turnipseed Engineers in Augusta and Atlanta, Georgia.

A digital copy of the plans and specifications as well as one printed copy of the specifications
will be provided upon receipt of $100. Upon request, one printed full size or reduced set of
drawings is available at no additional charge.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
