Description
This is the repower of the dive boat NF4, a 3 HRIB Northwind Dive boat, that is attached to the NOAA Ship Nancy Foster. The NF-4 has become increasingly difficult to obtain spare parts and servicing for the current marine engine, a Cummins QSD 4.2L 320 EI due to Cummins and Mercury discontinuing its production.
Due to the challenges faced in obtaining spare parts and servicing for the current engine, it is essential that the chosen replacement offers better accessibility to maintenance support and a more reliable supply of spare parts. Moreover, the new engine may require a compatible marine gear transmission to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance with the existing systems.
