Description


The purpose of this contract is to successfully treat competing brush and deciduous that is impeding the growth of crop trees and affecting the free growing status of BCTS blocks. Field work must be completed by October 31, 2025.

Brushing Quality Plots
The successful contractor is responsible for completing quality plots. At the Contractor’s discretion, GPS may be used to locate plot centers for payment plot purposes. If the Contractor chooses to use GPS to locate the plot centers, a list of payment plot coordinates must accompany the payment plot/grid map submission.

Plot centers must be marked on the ground and staked at a minimum height of 1.3m with winter weight ribbon. Each plot center flag must have the plot number, the date and the initials of the Contractor’s representative marked on it with waterproof marker.
The provincial standard of a minimum of five (5) plots per treatment unit will be followed for all treatment units less than five (5) hectares. The following is the required plot intensity by treatment unit: 1 plot / ha: 0.0 – 10.0 ha         1 plot / 2ha: >10.1 ha         i.e. 4ha = 5 plots         i.e. 9ha = 9 plots         i.e. 50ha = 30 plots (10 ha @ 1 plot/ha + 40 ha @ 1 plot/2ha  10+20=30)         A max value of 10 will be used in the column *Crop Trees* on the FS209D.

Deadline for receiving questions is 4:30 pm onAugust 11, 2025.

If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by August 12, 2025.
