Description


Purpose of Procurement
In accordance with the State Purchasing Act (O.C.G.A. § 50¿5¿50 et seq.), this electronic Request for Proposals (eRFP) seeks to establish a contract with a qualified contractor who will provide Portable Fire Extinguishers and Pre¿Engineered Fire Suppression Systems Services to the Kennesaw State University (hereinafter, the State Entity) as further described in this eRFP.
Description of Services
Kennesaw State University (KSU) operates two campuses with over 2,300 portable fire extinguishers and multiple pre¿engineered fire suppression systems. The University seeks competitive proposals from qualified contractors to inspect, test, maintain, repair and replace this equipment to ensure compliance with the Georgia Fire Code and the latest editions of NFPA 10, NFPA 17, NFPA 17A and NFPA 2001. Contractors shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, equipment and supervision necessary to provide the services described herein. Work must be scheduled around normal University operations, accurate records must be maintained and detailed inspection reports must be submitted.
Portable Fire Extinguishers
KSU maintains approximately 2,301 portable fire extinguishers across its campuses. Extinguisher types include multi¿purpose dry chemical (ABC), carbon dioxide (CO¿), Class D (metal), Class K (cooking oil), Halotron and Purple K in various sizes. Services shall be performed in accordance with NFPA 10 (2022 edition) and manufacturer recommendations.
Pre¿Engineered Fire Suppression Systems
KSU operates kitchen hood wet chemical systems, dry chemical systems protecting specific hazards, and clean agent (FM¿200 or equivalent) total flooding systems. Services shall comply with NFPA 17A, NFPA 17, NFPA 2001 and manufacturer manuals.
This solicitation may result in one or multiple awards, depending on project requirements and supplier qualifications.
Term and Renewal
The initial contract term is one year, with up to four one¿year renewals subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement. With the Contractor¿s written consent, the University may extend the contract as necessary to allow time for aw
