The NYCCOC is seeking a safety consultant to provide experienced occasional assistance to the Javits Center Safety Manager as necessary. The consultant should be prepared to assist/conduct regulatory training specifically for fork, boom and scissor lift practical road courses. These sessions can be for recertification purposes or new hire. There may be a request for certain courses where 4 - 6 trainers will be necessary to complete sessions within a timely manner.

Confined Space Entry (Permit Required) training is to be conducted by a CSP or CIH, with expertise in the requirements of confined spaces. The training shall include the use of monitoring equipment, retrieval equipment, and completion of permits as well as personal protective equipment.

The consultant providing employees to assist in show floor monitoring and enforcement must have knowledge and experience in OSHA's 1910 & 1926 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) with specifics in Fall Protection, forklift Operations & Dock Safety, Portable Scaffolding, Boom/Scissor Lifts, and safe use of power tools.

The employees assigned to assist in show floor monitoring shall have a broad knowledge of overall safe work practices in general. There will be a need for four (4) monitors during the hours of 7a - 7p and one to two (1-2) during the hours of 7p - 7a), for the move in/move out of the New York International Auto Show. Please note the hours may decrease as activities lessen and show progresses.

Qualifications of Trainers/Show Floor Assistance:

The consultant providing employees to assist in training practical courses is to have knowledge in the safe operations of fork, boom and scissor lifts. NYCCOC does not expect to provide the trainers with the knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations.

1. Show Floor Monitoring

Provide continuous presence on show floor, roadway, dock areas, public areas, and other locations where trade show activities are present as needed. Monitors are to seek out unsafe behavior and correct upon observation. If observations are made beyond behavior, the Centers, Manager of Health & Safety is to be immediately contacted. Daily reporting of observations and corrected behavior to be sent withing one business day
