Project Description One-Two Sentences
The University of North Carolina at Pembroke is seeking letters of interest from qualified professional service firms for a project that will begin with a programming phase to confirm scope, cost, funding, and ADA-compliance requirements for replacement of the existing athletic wood flooring system. Upon completion of programming and confirmation of funding, the project is anticipated to include full basic design services for removal of the existing floor, installation of a new wood athletic floor system with an interlocking airflow subfloor, and related work, including bleacher removal and reinstallation, transitions, wall base, volleyball sleeve covers, court graphics, and associated improvements. Firms shall submit their Letter of Interest and Current SF-330 in PDF format by email to the Project Contact no later than 12:00 PM on July 07, 2026, with a Cc: to david.locklear@uncp.edu, Director of Planning, Design & Construction, and douglas.hall@uncp.edu. Anticipated Schedule (schedule below is subject to change) 07/14/2026 Committee Review 07/17/2026 Firm notification The University intends to select a firm through a qualifications-based review process consistent with applicable SCO/SBC procedures. The University selection committee will evaluate submissions, rank firms based on demonstrated qualifications, and proceed with selection without conducting formal interviews. All communications shall be submitted by email only to the Project Contact, with David Locklear, Director of Planning, Design & Construction, and Douglas Hall copied on all correspondence. Current project authorization is for advance planning only. The selected firm may be retained through full design and construction at the University's option.
