Title: SHORT TERM LAND LEASE FOR MODULAR OFFICE/CREW QUARTERS BUILDING FOR MEDICAL AVIATION RELATED BUSINESS
Addenda: 1
Release Date: 2/18/2026
Due Date: 3/20/2026
Benson Municipal Airport offers unique opportunities for aviation-related businesses, providing a General Aviation facility with low commercial traffic flight counts located in close proximity to an Interstate Highway. The City believes the Benson Municipal Airport provides a unique opportunity for the economic development of the City, its residents, and the residents of nearby communities, which development it believes can be advanced through the location and construction of air-related businesses and facilities near the airport. The City accordingly desires to enter into a short-term lease land lease for a modular office/crew quarters building for medical aviation related business.
The City is authorized to lease its property pursuant to ARS § 9-241.
The City of Benson had the grand opening of the Benson Municipal Airport (E95) on December 1, 1999. The airport is equipped with a 4,000 foot long, 75 foot wide runway (10/28). The airport is located 120 nautical miles from Sky Harbor International Airport, and 30.5 nautical miles from Tucson International Airport. The Benson Municipal Airport is a full-service General Aviation Airport that provides Jet fuel and AVGAS, maintenance operations, flight training, and aircraft rental and sales. Prior City improvements, completed with grant-funding assistance, is paying off in increased activity and interest. The traffic count is about 17,843 movements per year and fuel sales are about 31,000 gallons per year. There are currently approximately 45 based aircraft at the airport.
