Overview

Summary

The City of Santa Fe Traffic Engineering and the Metropolitan Planning Organization needs access to quick access to speed data for its roads along with a database for crash data to review along with it to respond to traffic concerns. Such data is useful in order to provide information to officials, the City of Santa Fe Police Department, and to constituents before doing any further analysis on potential traffic calming measures or road infrastructure to address roadway safety and speeding issues.

Background

In the fall of 2021 the Santa Fe MPO invested in the Urban SDK Platform to enrich our transportation data portfolio to support safer streets in Santa Fe. MPO staff spent 2 years training on this proprietary platform with an array of data that with use of the dashboard and studio can do what has been unprecedented multivariate data analysis. Prior to this investment data sets were created separated with high costs via specialized expertise. By 2023 we had been able to support the City's Complete Streets Division with detailed data analysis that now rests within the Dashboard platform. We can retrieve and review data sets that were developed over the past 4 years. In 2024 the Public Works Department felt that platform was an invaluable asset for the Complete Street Division Team and began the 3 year sole source contracting process.
