Planning Commission for Design & Engineering Services - Cross-County, Wissahickon Trail

Project Description: Montgomery County is seeking proposals from trail design and engineering consultants to prepare preliminary and final design drawings/construction documents and apply for/secure all required permits for the eastern-most extent of the planned Cross County Trail (XCT). The selected firm shall have a licensed engineer with experience in designing trail facilities in Pennsylvania as well as particular experience working with PennDOT in obtaining highway occupancy permits (refer to PennDOT Pub. 740) required for trail road crossings and in performing all design and permitting required for trail modifications to state bridges, including the Rte. 73 bridge over Wissahickon Creek and the PA Turnpike bridge the trail will cross beneath, and for environmentally-sensitive trail design. The consultant will be required to affix the professional seal of their registered profession on all construction drawings prepared under this contract and comply fully with the requirements of PennDOT’s Design Development process, municipal codes and all environmental permits, as applicable.
