Description:
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has established the Occupational Mentor Certification Program (OMCP) for incarcerated persons. The OMCP provides selected incarcerated persons (participants) with an opportunity to earn a certification in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) counseling, recognized by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). The participants assist in delivering Cognitive Behavioral Interventions (CBI) programming to the incarcerated population and receive the skills necessary to secure gainful employment as an AOD Counselor upon release from prison, helping to facilitate the incarcerated person¿s successful reintegration to their community. For the purposes of this document, mention of the CDCR shall encompass the Division of Rehabilitative Programs (DRP) and other applicable entities as identified by CDCR.
The Contractor shall provide OMCP program services in accordance with this Agreement, to provide and coordinate the services required for participants to obtain and maintain their AOD certification while incarcerated.
