The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is required pursuant to Texas Health and SafetyCode, Sections 81.041, 81.043 and 81.044 to maintain a repository and report onall infectious disease in Texas. National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) Base System (NBS) is utilized daily by local, regional, and state public healthsurveillance staff across Texas to monitor and manage approximately ninety (90) infectious disease conditions. The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is soliciting offers from qualified vendors to provide Application ServiceProvider (ASP) services to support software maintenance, development, andenhancement of the DSHS National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) Base System (NBS).
