General Notice
The Town of Clayton(Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:
Fire Station #2 Public Works Building
700-2027-ENG-01
Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at Town of Clayton Town Hallin Council
Chambers, located at 111 E. Second St., Clayton, NC 27520, untilOctober 21st, 2026, at 10:30amlocal
time.
All visitors to Town Hall are required to sign in upon entry;therefore, bidders should plan accordingly
to allow sufficient time to complete the sign-in process and ensure bids are submitted before the stated
deadline. A designated Town staff member will be stationed in the main lobbyto accept bids prior to
the deadline. Bids received after the stated time will not be accepted.
Each bid will be date-and time-stampedupon receipt. At the deadline, the designated staff member
will immediately deliver all timely received bids to the bid opening location. Bids received by the
deadline will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The Project includes the following Work:
Construction of a pole barn structure, including foundations, structural framing, roofing, siding,
and all associated building components as shown in the contract documents.
Minor site grading and earthwork necessary to establish proper drainage, building pad
preparation, and installation of project components.
Installation of electrical systems, including service connections, wiring, lighting, receptacles, and
associated electrical equipment as specified in the plans and specifications.
Installation of plumbing components and associated piping required to support water storage
system.
Furnishing and installation of two (2) 9,000-gallon cistern tanks, bedding, piping connections,
fittings, appurtenances, testing, and commissioning.
Bids are requested for the following Contract: Fire Station #2 Public Works Building
The Project has an expectedconstructionduration of 120daysto substantial completion.

This page can be accessed directly at https://www.townofclaytonnc.org/Bids.aspx. All bidders will be
required to register as plan holders at the designated site in order to download bidding, contract and
plan documents. The designated website may be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered
plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. Bidders are
responsible for any information posted to the website subsequent to the initial posting.
All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the
designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including
addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website.
Pre-bid Conference
A NON-MANDATORY pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on October 1st ,2026at 10:30amat
Clayton Fire Station #2, 800 NC-42, Clayton, NC 27527. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is
encouraged but not required. Only emailed questions received prior to the time and date listed below,
or questions received at the pre-bid meeting will be addressed. All emailed questions must be received
by 5pm, Eastern Standard Time on October 9th, 2026 . No questions or requests for clarifications will be
accepted after this time. Responses to questions will be issued in the form of an addendum and issued
by 3pm, Eastern Standard Time on October 14th,2026 (if needed) on
https://www.townofclaytonnc.org/Bids.aspx. The issuance of such written responses is the only official
method by which interpretation, clarification, or additional information will be given by the Town. Only
requests answered by formal written responses will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or
clarifications will be without legal effect.

For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award,
refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents.

evaluation of statements, or final selection.
