The City of Woodstock applied for and received a Safe Routes to School Grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to enhance the sidewalk system on North Seminary Avenue (IL 47), within 1.5 miles of Mary Endres Elementary and Northwood Middle Schools. IL 47, which crosses Silver Creek between Birch and St. John’s Roads, experiences heavy traffic and is one of the most significant safety concerns in our community. The planned improvements will benefit students living on the eastern and southeastern sides of each school’s attendance zone, as well as the general walking community.
In order to meet project deadlines and provide safe and serviceable sidewalks, the City of Woodstock is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified engineering consultants for Phase II Design Engineering Services for this project.
