Child & Family Visitation Office Conversion at Tuolumne General

The County of Tuolumne, through its Health and Human Services Agency, Department of Social Services, is seeking bids from qualified contractors to convert approximately 1,100 square feet of empty space at 101 Hospital Road in Sonora, CA (formerly the Tuolumne General Hospital kitchen) into functional office space. This space is adjacent to the agency's Child & Family Visitation Center and will be used to provide safe direct client services including a client lobby, investigative interviews, family visitation and drug testing within it's Child Welfare Services division.

In recent years, the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) has explored options for saving money and co-locating services by relocating its departments from leased buildings to County - owned buildings. The former Tuolumne General Hospital (TGH) was identified as a desirable site for additional HHSA services due to close proximity to its Behavioral Health Department, Veterans Service Office, and Department of Social Services’ (DSS) Child & Family Visitation Center already operating in County- owned buildings on the Hospital Road campus.
