DYD will enlist community-based service providers to prioritize the equitable staffing of Credible Messenger (CM) positions with community leaders who have personal lived experience with justice-system involvement, and who represent diverse geographic and demographic backgrounds across Los Angeles. These CMs will lead transformative mentoring programs and activities designed to foster youth development, healing, and overall well-being within the institutional environment. The CM Programming will be provided to specific Youth populations which are housed within Los Angeles County Juvenile facilities, halls, and camps. Certain specialized Youth Populations have unique needs which may need to be addressed.
