The work to be performed under the terms of this Specification consists of planting trees on the site known as the 2025 TREEPLANTING PROJECT â SPRUCE PINE SITE in BUCHANAN COUNTY, Virginia, for the Commonwealth of Virginia.The Spruce Pine site is located approximately 1.6 miles northwest of the Pilgrims Knob community at an area referenced asDwight on the Patterson, VA 7.5 minute USGS Quadrangle. The nearest public road intersection is Routes 638 and 640 andis approximately 0.8 miles to the northwest of the project. The approximate project center coordinates are 37° 15â 23.85â N81° 56â 13.56â W. The site is reclaimed abandoned mine lands with typical slopes of 2:1. Soil conditions vary from shallowrocky soils to loose uncompacted material.
