Description

The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) requires the supply of a turnkey and integrated specialized system combining Ultra-High Precision Coulometry (UHPC) and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) measurements without manual intervention or setup changes.

The system must allow automated test sequence wherein precise EIS measurements are performed at set intervals during long term UHPC cycling without manual intervention or setup changes, making both UHPC and EIS measurements during a single experiment and controlled by a single software facilitating test automation with seamless execution.

This integrated system allows enhanced insights into electrochemical systems, increasing flexibility and enabling rapid predictions of battery lifespan, degradation mapping, and early fault detection. This integrated approach supports the development of robust physics-based battery models, which are essential for advancing next-generation battery technologies, such as solid-state, lithium-metal, and lithium-silicon chemistries.

The integrated system also improves the reliability and quality of data by reducing the number of connections and manipulations required when setting up tests. The integration allows for automated tests, making both UHPC and EIS measurements during a single experiment and controlled by a single software facilitating test automation with seamless execution of sophisticated experimental designs with improved data outcomes, enabling and cross-validation of the data.
