Description

The City of Calgary has identified the following three (3) river parks - Pearce Estate, Sandy Beach Park and Shouldice Park – to receive improvements and enhancements to washroom facilities. The project will replace the old facilities that are at end of life.

The City will select a single integrated project team led by an Architect to provide all services to deliver the project as outlined in this RFP.

The Consultant team is required to include the following disciplines:
•        Civil utilities and infrastructure design
•        Historical resources assessment
•        Architectural design
•        Structural design
•        Electrical design
•        Mechanical design
•        Landscape design and integration
•        Sustainability and Energy Modelling

This project anticipates the following Phases:
Phase 1 – Pre-design
Phase 2 - Schematic design
Phase 3 – Design development
Phase 4 –Construction drawings and specifications
Phase 5 – Construction Procurement and Contract Administration
Phase 6 – Close-Out

Unless otherwise stated in the Agreement Letter, the award under this RFP will be for all phases listed in the Project Summary. However, funding is currently only approved for Phase 1 & 2. Internal review and funding will need to be secured internally before moving onto future phases.

After completion of Phase 1 & 2, The City and Consultant will collaboratively negotiate the scope and expected timelines for that subsequent listed Phase, and document the same in a supplemental Scope and Fee Schedule. When duly signed by both parties, the supplemental Scope and Fee Schedule will become part of the Agreement and subject to the Agreement.

At The City’s sole option, and subject to the availability of budget funds and to the satisfactory performance of the Consultant as determined by The City in its sole and absolute discretion, additional scope of work for one additional washroom (Elliston Park) may be added to this Project – See Appendix B – Summary of Potential Additional Work.

The City and Consultant will collaboratively negotiate the scope and expected timelines for that subsequent listed location, and document the same in a supplemental Scope and Fee Schedule. When duly signed by both parties, the supplemental Scope and Fee Schedule will become part of the Agreement and subject to the Agreement.
