INVITATION FOR BIDS
Notice is hereby given that the Town of North Reading is seeking Sealed Bids for the CENTRAL FIRE STATION OVERHEAD GARAGE DOOR REPLACEMENT IFB 2026-01FS. Bids are received at the Office of the Department of Public Works, North Reading Town Hall, at 235 North Street, North Reading, MA 01864 until the time specified below at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read.

Bids will be opened in the Town Hall “Department of Public Works Administrative Office” on October 19th, 2026, at 10 a.m. at North Reading Town Hall, 235 North St. North Reading Ma. 01864. Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid security consisting of a BID BOND, CASH, or, CERTIFIED CHECK issued by a responsible bank or trust company in the amount of 5% of the bid price.
Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit will be held at the Flint Memorial Library located at 152 Park Street, North Reading, 01864, on October 8th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. It is imperative that all prospective bidders have a representative in attendance
All bids for this project are subject to applicable public bidding laws of Massachusetts, including, but not limited to G.L. c.149, §§44A-44H, as amended.
Selection of the contractor will be based upon bidder qualifications, including evidence of past performance in similar projects, and bid price. The contract will be awarded to the bidder deemed by the awarding authority to be the lowest responsible and eligible bidder.
The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids.
The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
