Summary

Chesapeake Public Schools, including the School Board (hereafter known as the District), is soliciting bids to purchase or lease an athletic field marking robot to autonomously mark fields for various purposes for schools with athletic fields in the District. The primary objective is to acquire a state-of-the-art robotic solution that will ensure precise and efficient marking of athletic fields while minimizing labor and maximizing accuracy. The machine should be adaptable for various sports and compliant with relevant industry standards.

The basic requirements for the robot must include, but are not limited to, the following criteria:

  • Accurate and efficient field marking.
  • Adaptability to different field sizes, shapes, and marking patterns.
  • Safe operation in various environmental conditions.
  • User-friendly interface for easy programming and control.

Each school has the sole option to either purchase or lease the equipment associated with the resulting contract. The term for leasing the equipment shall run conterminously.

All pricing shall be firm and fixed throughout the term of the contract.

Quantities indicated in the bid are not guarantees, but close estimates of the school district’s requirement. Chesapeake Public Schools reserves the right to adjust any and / or all quantities, without penalty, as necessitated by budget restrictions or changes in educational requirements.

Background

The District seeks bids from qualified, licensed, and insured vendors to provide an Athletic Field Marking Robot .

Through this Invitation To Bid (IFB), the District is seeking to identify one or more vendors who can most fully meet the needs of the District as specified in this document and any associated attachments.

Based on enrollment, the District is the seventh largest school district in Virginia. With nearly 40,000 students and 6,000 employees in 56 schools and centers, the District is committed to providing excellence in education for the children of Chesapeake.
