General:
The City of Claremont, NH (hereafter referred to as the “CITY”) invites qualified firms to
submit proposals for the DPW - 2026 Line Painting (hereafter referred to as the "CONTRACTOR"). Details of the project are attached in the Documents section.
Instructions:
Sealed proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope no later than 10:00 AM EST on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, c/o City Manager’s Office, City Hall, 58 Opera House Square, Claremont, NH 03743. Envelope must be clearly marked “DPW - 2026 Line Painting”.
Bid proposals will be opened and publicly announced on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 10:00 AM EST in City Council Chambers, 58 Opera House Square Claremont, NH 03743.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
2026 LINE PAINTING
CITY OF CLAREMONT, NH
The City of Claremont, Department of Public Works, is accepting “DPW-2026 Line Painting”
bids for the year 2026.
General Specifications:
A. Sealed proposals clearly marked “DPW-2026 Line Painting” on the outside of the envelope,
must be submitted to the City Manager’s Office, 58 Opera House Square, Claremont, NH
03743, no later than Tuesday, March 10th, 2026 @ 10:00 AM. Bid proposals will be
opened and publicly announced on Thursday, March 12th, 2026 at 10:00am in City
Council Chambers, 58 Opera House Square Claremont, NH 03743.
Proposals must include a lump sum-total price, three references, and a certificate of
insurance as specified in the bid documents, with included bid sheet.
B. Contractor shall maintain for the duration of the contract all required insurance coverages as
set forth below. Coverage shall be written with an insurance carrier licensed to do business in
the State of New Hampshire, rated no lower than “A” by A. M. Best. Contractor shall provide to
Owner Certificates of Coverage for all coverages no fewer than ten (10) days prior to
commencement of the Work, which coverage shall include endorsements that coverage provided
by the policies shall not be reduced or canceled without thirty (30) days advance written notice
given to Owner, unless for cancellation for non-payment of premium or other event for which
coverage may be terminated on (10) ten days’ notice to the policyholder, in which event no less
than (10) ten days advance written notice shall be given to Owner.
Contractor agrees to maintain during the performance of the Services, at least the kinds and
minimum amounts of insurance as described below:
1. Comprehensive General Liability, including Completed Operations Coverage -
$1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 Aggregate City of Claremont must be named as
an additional insured.
2. Motor Vehicle Liability - $1,000,000 combined single limit City of Claremont must be
named as an additional insured. Coverage must include all owned, non-owned and hired
vehicles.
3. Worker’s Compensation on all workers providing services under this Agreement;
Employer’s Liability with limits in an amount no less than $100,000/$500,000/$100,000.
4. All Subcontractors, as agents of Contractor under this Agreement, are subject to the same
insurance requirements as the Contractor.
5. Excess Liability in the minimum amount of $1,000,000 each occurrence.
Special Provisions:
A. This work shall consist of furnishing, placing white and yellow retro reflective paint
pavement markings. All work shall conform to standards and sizes as detailed by the
New Hampshire Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road &
Bridge Construction for the following parts of Section 632 Retro reflective pavement
markings (these details are available from the State of New Hampshire Department of
Transportation).

Paint thickness shall follow manufactures instructions or 15 mil, whichever is greater.
B. Contractor shall furnish and have available for the City’s use, the following inspection
equipment:
Wet Film Thickness Gauge: Scales which range from 2 to 30 mils in 2
mil increments (200 to 700 um in 25 um increments)
Pocket Microscope: Scope having a four-part lens system with
magnification of 20x and a clip-on accessory light
Striping Calibration Kit: Volumetric bead calibration kit shall be complete
with instructions, as manufactured by Potters Industries, Inc., or approved
equal
C. Work is expected to begin as soon as the contract is awarded and the weather allows.
Starting date will be agreed upon with the successful contractor before final award of
contract. All work must be completed May 22nd, 2026. If not completed the
contractor shall be assessed a fee of $50/day for each day past May 22nd, 2026
(weather permitting).
D. The City of Claremont reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
E. Contractors shall put out signs and cones warning the motoring public of line painting in
progress.
F. All work shall be completed during evening/night hours to minimize delays and
potential cars driving in wet paint.
G. The contractor shall be responsible for any and all claims of paint on vehicles. Calls will
be directed to the contractor.
