Synopsis



This posted announcement is a Pre-Solicitation Synopsis of a proposed contract action in accordance with FAR Subpart 5.207.



The Mission Installation Contracting Command - Fort Leavenworth intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB).



The purpose of this requirement is to:



a) Remove approximately 500 lineal feet of three-story porches on the north side



of the building (all north porches except the far west-northwest). Repair of beam pockets with matching brick. Prior to and during work, Contractor to build protection for the central north glass entrance system.



b) Repair and paint wood porch structure and railings and replace the roof on the northwest porches. Replace the metal porch roofing with prefinished standing seam metal roofing and replace related flashing, gutters, downspouts and splash blocks. Relace individual pieces of ¾” trim by 8” to 10” wide.



c) Replace five (5) beams, repair two (2) beams, strip prime and paint all.



Strip, prime and paint nine (9) joists. Relace individual pieces of ¾” trim by 8” to 10” wide. Install Floor 3 porch ceiling vents.



d) Replace 25 roofing downspouts and eaves around the building.



e) Tuckpoint and replace historic 8” brick around the building. Replace approximately 176 historic (true 8” long) brick units around the building, virtually all on Floor 1 level with a few on Floor 2, replace approximately 7,000 historic brick units (1,000 SF) in the center of Floor 3 virtually all above the floor line to the roof. Tuckpoint approximately 280 SF of brick joints around the building Mechanical Work.



Anticipated award will be given to a responsible bidder whose bid, conforming to the invitation for bids; will be most advantageous to the Government, considering only price and the price-related factors included in the invitation. This anticipated contract will be Firm Fixed Price.
