The Town of Westford is seeking sealed bids for the replacement of the roof and siding at 51

Main Street in Westford, MA.

Specifications and bid forms may be obtained at westfordma.gov/Bids.aspx on or after 8:00 AM

on June 10, 2026. There will be a mandatory site visit on Tuesday, June 15 at 10:00 am at 51

Main Street in Westford, MA 01886. Any bid received without participation in the site visit

will be rejected.

Sealed Bids shall be addressed to the Facilities Department, 23 R Depot Street, Westford, MA

01886 and marked “51 Main Street- Roof and Siding Replacement”. Bids will be accepted at

The Facilities Department at 23 R Depot St., Westford, MA until 9:00 AM on June 25, 2026, at

which time they will be opened and read aloud. Late bids will not be accepted. Emailed or faxed

bids will not be accepted. Each Bid must be accompanied by a 100% payment bond consisting

of a BID BOND or, CERTIFIED CHECK issued by a responsible bank or trust company if the

contract is over $25,000 and a 5% bid deposit in the form of a BID BOND or, CERTIFIED CHECK,

bid bond, or a treasurer’s or cashier’s check payable to the Owner if the value of the bid is over

$50,000. All bids must be submitted on the bid form supplied. All forms must be either

typewritten or written in ink.

All bids for this project are subject to applicable public bidding laws of Massachusetts, including

General Law Chapter c.149. 149, § §44A through 44H, as amended and Chapter 30, Section

39M, as amended. Attention is directed to the minimum wage rates to be paid as determined

by the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development and the weekly payroll record

submittal requirements under the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149,

Section 26 through 27D inclusive.

Selection of the contractor will be based upon bidder qualifications, including evidence of past

performance in similar projects, and bid price. The contract will be awarded to the bidder

deemed by the awarding authority to be the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The bidder

agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays,

Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids.

The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part

any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the

Town.
