Registration fees for DEED’s Paid Leave and Human Resources to participate in the People of Color Career Fair being held April 15, 2025. Fees cover the cost for a 10 x 20 booth where staff can discuss current and upcoming job opportunities with potential job applicants. This booth will be featured with other state agencies that are attending the career fair.
Paid Leave is a new program launching in 2026. The program will provide partial wage replacement to Minnesota workers who are out of work due to qualifying condition, such as severe health condition that prevents them from working, or when they need time to care for a family member or new child. In preparation for the program launch, an estimated 300 – 350 staff positions must be recruited, hired, onboarded, and trained by Fall 2025.
Career fairs are one of the multiple recruitment options being utilized by Paid Leave and Human Resources to not only meet staffing needs but to also ensure our workforce is representative of the community we serve.
This career fair specifically targets people of color in the Twin Cities metro and has become an industry best practice after being first held over 13 years ago. This event draws thousands of skilled candidates every year and represents a variety of unique job sectors. It will help Paid Leave meet critical hiring volumes, recruitment timelines, and job industry experiences.
