Description of Services/Introduction: The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to perform the maintenance and certification for Biosafety cabinets, barrier isolates, class III gloves box, facility HEPA filters and equipment HEPA filters in accordance with (IAW) the lates edition of the BMBL (Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories) NSF/ANSI 40 as defined in the PWS except for those items specified as government furnished property (GFP) and government furnished services (GFS). The contractor shall perform to the standards in this contract.
The DEVCOM Chemical Biological Center, Biotesting Division (BTD) has a requirement for Biological Safety Cabinets (BSC), High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters and HEPA Bank annual maintenance and certification. To accomplish this requirement, BTD has a justifiable need for a contractor to perform the maintenance and certification of the biological safety cabinets, HEPA filters and HEPA banks for BTD.
The West Desert Test Center (WDTC), Special Programs Division (SPD) has additional items to include the BSCs, and the 10 HEPA filters for replacement. These items will appear as separate CLIN and be annotated by the “SPD” VS the “BTD” in the CLIN descriptions.
Objectives: The objectives encompass the maintenance and certification of biological safety cabinets and HEPA filters annually under Engineering Controls Certification IAW 385-69. The BSC requirements are outlined in the BMBL (Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories). BSCs must conform and be certified to meet National Sanitation Foundation (NSF)/American National Standards Institute (ANSI) 49 for the applicable type of cabinet.
