INVITATION TO BID
Owensboro Municipal Utilities will receive sealed bids until 2:00 P.M. (CST) on
September 24, 2026 (prevailing time) at which time bids will be opened and read
aloud for the:
BID No. 26-09-017
WOOD POLES
Owensboro Municipal Utilities (OMU) is requesting bids for the purchase of one hundred
fifty (150) each of two (2) different sizes of wood poles: 35-foot, Class 3 and 45-foot,
Class 3, for a total quantity of three hundred (300) poles, as outlined in the attached
"Pricing Proposal Sheet."
All wood poles shall conform to the attached "OMU Specification for Wood Poles"
Manual and "OMU Standard Pole Detail Drawing" (Drawing), or as otherwise
specified by OMU. The Drawing is the same as RUS Bulletin 1728F-700, Pole Framing
Guide, M-20. All poles shall be Framed as indicated in the attached Drawing.
As specified in the attached "OMU Specification for Wood Poles" Manual, all poles are to
be full-length pressure treated and shall be treated with the specified preservative for that
respective size pole.
All poles shall be inspected by the third-party inspection company Wood Quality Control
Inc. (WQC). The cost of these inspections shall be incurred by the Bidder. Awarded
Bidder(s) must submit inspection report with each load of poles, reflecting dates of WQC
inspection.
