Project Description: Youth Outreach/Canoe Journey Send-off Dinner
The summer Wildlife Youth Education Program and the TaalunauW Canoe Club will be hosting a youth outreach and canoe
journey send-off dinner on July 15, 2026. The Quinault Indian Nation is solicitating for bids from individuals and companies to
cook dinner (sides, etc.) and dessert for up to 150 guests at the Taholah Community Center, set up the dining area, and
provide cleanup of the kitchen and eating areas. 2026. The Quinault Indian Nation will provide the main course, which is elk
meat in the form of roast and/or burger. We are looking for bids that will create a menu around this. The elk meat will be
provided. Dinner will need to be served at 6:00 pm.
Bidders will need to provide alternatives for youth with dietary restrictions. We will inform you of any dietary restrictions at a
later date, once individual participants are confirmed.
Scope of work
• Responsibilities under this contract include prepping, cooking, and serving dinner and dessert for 150 people. The
menu is up to you, but we will need to correspond with the elk meat for the meal. Please state in detail what you will
be preparing as part of your bid response. Water will need to be purchased to go with the meal.
• The selected Contractor will shop for supplies and food. A check can be provided in advance for the purchase of food
and supplies from the vendor of your choice, or a PO to Swanson’s can be provided.
• The Contractor will be responsible for setting up the dining area, which includes setting tables and chairs up.
• The Contractor will also be responsible for cleaning the kitchen and dining areas (putting tables and chairs away,
sweeping, mopping, taking out the garbage, etc.) after the event.
• The selected Contractor is required to be at the community center for the pre-rental and post-rental walk through.
Qualifications
• Obtain a food handlers permit for all that will be prepping and cooking food
• Must have cooked for large gatherings at least twice before this event (at least 50 people). In your response
please describe this experience.
• Obtain a QIN Business License
Indian Contractor Preference
Preference will be given to Indian Contractors. Please specify in the proposal If bidders are Quinault (with enrollment
number), Supporting Quinault, Other Indian, or Non-Tribal.
Submission of Bids
• Description of qualifications, including your experience cooking for large gatherings, and how many people you
cooked for
• Anticipated menu with costs, with a breakdown for food, supplies and labor
• 3 references
Bids are due Sunday, June 28th, 2026 by 11:59 p.m. and must be submitted to Cora
Pope at 1214 Aalis Dr, Taholah WA 98587 or emailed to bids@quinault.org with the
subject line “Canoe Journey Send-off Dinner 2026”. Please cc kphillips@quinault.org
when submitting bids. Please provide a W-9, Food Handler’s Permit, and 2026 QIN
Business License with your bid, if possible, to help speed up the process. THANK
