Storey County will be accepting sealed bids for the above referenced project "P5-28 Piper’s Front Doors and South-side Windows Rehabilitations”.
Bids must be received by no later than Wednesday November 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM (14:00 hours) local time.
Bids received after this date and/or time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened to the sender.
Bids must be clearly marked on the outside envelope. Electronically transmitted bids will not be accepted.
Storey County reserves the right to reject any bid or to accept the bid which is deemed to be in the best interest of the county.
Proposals will be received by/submitted to Storey County Public Works at 26 South B Street, Virginia City, NV 89440.
Bids will be opened and read aloud at 2:10 PM (14:10 hours) in the Storey County Courthouse Slammer/Conference Room at 26 South B Street, Virginia City, Nevada 89440.
Project Description: Supply all necessary labor and material to rehabilitate (12) twelve doors, frames, thresholds, weather stripping and hardware on the front (east) elevation of the Opera House. Supply labor and material to rehabilitate (5) five windows at the south-side of the building. Work consists of (5) five existing wood window assemblies. (3) three on the south wall ballroom, and (2) two on the south side in the front living room. Rehabilitation to include primed and painted assemblies. Rehabilitations shall keep the historic wood elements to best extent possible all work shall be in accordance with The Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and contractors shall use The Secretary of the Interior’s Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings. The existing door hardware shall be refurbished and not replaced. Provision of temporary doors with transparent glazing and lockable should be included while existing doors are being repaired. Please include a separate cost for all Alternates. Add #1 To rehabilitate the window pulleys ropes and counterweights for all windows
